Important Resolutions

Vishwa Gujarati Samaj provides a platform for interaction amongst the Gujaratits World Over, and functions as an umbilical cord between the Gujaratis settled outside Gujarat and the people of Gujarat. It works for their growth, development and progress and inspires them to cultivate the spirit of brotherhood, cooperation and to promote, preserve Gujarati language, culture, heritage and traditions. It has organized World Gujarati Conferences, Business Meets, Cultural Programs, Publication of books, Periodicals, Magazines, E-news letter, undertakes Humanitarian Activities, Exchange Programs and Seminars for the benefit of Gujaratis. The Samaj recognizes the services rendered by distinguished Gujaratis from India and abroad in different fields by acknowledging them with various awards. Since its inception VGS has organized four World Conferences of Gujaratis. Vishwa Gujarati Samaj regularly passes resolutions relating to various issues concerning Gujarat and World Gujarati Community. It has not only passed resolutions but has also actively followed up by making representations and creating public awareness about the issues.

  • Resolution asking for dual citizenship of people of Indian origin settled abroad
  • Resolution asking for exploration of Oil and Natural Gas from the Soil of Gujarat and to consider such Oil and Natural Gas as the ownership of Gujarat
  • To place Hindi Language in the examination of GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) of UK
  • Requesting Government of South Africa to preserve Mahatma Gandhi’s heritage, namely “Gandhi Ashram” at Durban and Phoenix Ashram at Pretoria
  • Resolution requesting Government of Maharashtra to establish Gujarati Sahitya Academy in Maharashtra
  • Requesting Government of India to issue postal tickets in the memory of Rashtriya Shayar Shri Zaverchand Meghani
  • Requesting Government of India and Gujarat to establish memorial of Shri Kanaiyalal Munshi and Shri Zaverchand Meghani
  • Requesting Government of India to establish memorial in the memory of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the residence where he was residing as Deputy Prime Minister at New Delhi
  • Requesting Government of India and Government of Gujarat to furnish appropriate title documents regarding the houses allocated to earthquake affected people
  • Requesting Government of Kenya to take appropriate steps to stop harassments to two Gujarati settled in Kenya
  • Requesting Government of India to start direct flight between Ahmedabad and London and also between Oman and Bhuj
  • Appealing World Gujarati Community to help affected people of Uttarakhand on account of floods
  • Requesting Government of India to take immediate steps to declare Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara and Bhuj as International Airports
  • Vishwa Gujarati Samaj has always requested World Gujarati Community to help affected people on account of Natural Calamity in any part of the World.
